What's an API key you ask? It's a long string of numbers and letters that let applications access some of your information (not things like passwords or emails). The information is stuff to do with your achievements, guilds, items, currencies, professions, PvP, builds, characters, recipe unlocks, wardrobe unlocks, and more.
API keys are very handy and have many purposes. On our Guild Discord we utilize both Aleeva, a wonderful piece of coding that allows us to use commands within our Discord channel #bot-spam to check a tonne of things. To utilize Aleeva to its fullest, I'm going to walk you through how to add your API key.
First pop open the Guild Wars website. Log in, then under the header "Services" you'll see a "My Account" button! Click it! Now log in. We're already halfway done to making your new API code.

You'll be brought to a screen above. On the bar, click "Applications". Once you're in there, click on the button "New Key". To use the bot on our Discord to its fullest, select all the boxes, but you can pick and choose what it can see. But make sure it can see guild! And to make it easier on yourself to edit this key should you ever want to, go ahead and label it. Press "Create API Key"!
That wasn't so hard, was it? You can now use this key however you want - but below I will put the two walkthroughs for the Discord bots [quag] utilizes.
Our Discord isn't the only place you can use nifty API keys! If you head over to our Helpful Links page on the website, many of the crafting and timer sites can use your API so you can gain helpful information at any time! Best of luck!
